Hey everyone!

I’m finally back with another blog post! Lemme just give you a little update of what’s been going on and why I haven’t posted in a while. After I came back from America I had to study A LOT for my third and last (yay!!!) college exam (this semester), after that my mom, my sister and I had to move everything from my Dad’s apartment to our house because he passed away in December 2017. As you can imagine that was very stressful and also emotional. Then I had a surgery which I’m currently recovering from AND on top of everything I have a really nasty cold. I don’t want anyone to feel bad for me, I just wanted to explain why I haven’t been able to post and to just give you a little life update.

But anyways, on to the fun part! The lovely Maggie from Dreaming of Guatemala nominated me for the Sunshine Blogger award! This is already my second award that I was nominated for and I’m really grateful for that, so THANK YOU Maggie! Make sure you check out her blog as well, she is such a sweet person and her writing style is really awesome.

Here we go!

1. Where do you get inspiration from for your blog posts?

Oh boy, I can’t really answer that question because I get my inspiration and ideas randomly! Like, I’ll be sitting on the train, minding my own business, and then bam! I have this app that I use to collect all the ideas I have and it’s really important to write them down immediately because trust me, you’re not gonna remember later on! Sometimes movies or tv shows inspire me, and of course other bloggers and/or Youtubers as well. Other times it’s just something I’ve been thinking about or a nice conversation I had with someone.

2. What are your favorite things to do?

I absolutely love traveling! If I could do one thing for the rest of my life, that would be it. Of course I can’t do that on an everyday basis though. I also enjoy playing the piano, singing (anything music related really), I like drawing and painting and I love to dance. Not gonna lie though, I also like laying in bed watching Netflix for 3 hours straight 😉

3. Your favorite inspirational quote or Bible verse?

I am not a very religious person, my family is not religious either so I’m gonna go with my favorite inspirational quote which would be: ”Happiness can be found even in the darkest of times if one only remembers to turn on the light.” – by Albus Dumbledore (well, actually J.K. Rowling to be fair) in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. I love this quote not only because I’m a huge Harry Potter fan, but also because it has helped and guided me through very dark times. It is just so comforting to me and it makes me feel like there is always gonna be a tiny ray of hope, even when everything seems to go wrong.

4. A few things you’re grateful for right now?

My family, my boyfriend Mitchell and my closest friends. Life would be worthless and meaningless to me if I didn’t have these amazing people in it. Nothing will ever make me as happy and be as comforting as them, I wouldn’t trade them for anything in this world. I’m also grateful for my health. People underestimate how precious great health is. A lot of people are suffering from severe mental and/or physical illnesses and I have been very lucky so far.

5. Do you prefer a large family or a smaller one?

I’d say medium. I grew up with only one sister and I love it! I feel like her and I would not have been as close if there had been three other siblings. She is the one person who knows me best and who I have the strongest connection with so I wouldn’t want it any other way. Sometimes I do wish that I had more cousins who are my age though as most of my cousins are a lot older than me.

6. Favorite book and why?

Harry Potter. This is and will always be my all time favorite book/ book series. My dad introduced me to the world of Harry Potter when I was only three years old, I watched the first movie when I was four, Harry Potter was my first crush and the first book I ever read entirely in English. I grew up with it and I never ”outgrew” it, I still love it like I always have. Harry Potter can teach you so much about human beings, society and also about yourself. It’s funny, exciting, scary, helpful and comforting at the same time. And the world that J.K. Rowling created is hands down the most incredible thing that’s ever been created by an author, at least in my opinion. As you can probably tell, I did do a lot of research on the background information and the way everything is connected and everything makes sense is just amazing. I could go on about why I love Harry Potter for hours but yeah, I’ll stop now, don’t worry 😛

7. Who’s your mentor?

My mom and my dad.

8. What is that thing you can’t do without?

Cereal haha! I crave that stuff so bad. A morning without my favorite cereal is not a good morning!

9. Introvert or extrovert?

Depends on the situation and the people I’m with. At home or with my friends: Definitely an extrovert! New situations or people I don’t know well: Not completely an introvert, but definitely not as much of an extrovert either.

10. A few of your favorite movies? Why do you love them?

Yep, you guessed it: Harry Potter. I’m not gonna go into why I love these movies ( I don’t want ya to get annoyed with my Harry Potter obsession), so here are a few other movies I love: Interstellar (I’m a space nerd), Inception, pretty much any Disney movie (hello childhood), Fantastic Beasts (of course!). I’m more into shows lately though, so if you guys are interested in that leave a comment!

11. Please offer a word of encouragement to your readers.

Sometimes the world can seem like a very dark place. Sometimes your whole life seems like this big black hole that you can’t get out of. But that’s not true. Stars can’t shine without darkness, as someone really wise once said. Look around you. There are people who love you, who need you in their lives. You can reach out to them and ask for help. They will catch you, they won’t let you fall. You just have to let them. And one day you’ll see that you’re starting to feel better. It might feel like baby steps, but it’s still steps. You will find happiness again.
